These pictures, which I took in 1993, are provided for the benefit of those who want to get a little bit of a feeling for the Czech Republic. Some things can't be conveyed so well in pictures, such as the tastes of hot pastries and good meals or the feeling of being in a bone house as Bach filters down from the church organ. But I will at least put a few pictures here and move on. |

Getting around by car is not uncommon, but some places it just doesn't work as well. | Old Town Bridge Tower and Charles Bridge (Praha), at the centre of which a statue of the country's patron saint, John Nepomuk, watches over the Vltava. | Staré Mìsto (Old Town), Praha - Old Town Hall, dating from 1338 |

Brno's 13th-century Pernstejn Castle over the Svartka River - spawning copycat 'White Lady' legends in other Czech castles, Pernstejn 'finally found the White Lady' when I was there. | The river snaking around some buildings by an old mill. | The 'Garden of Bohemia' - taken from near the church in Melnik, where we sat eating blackberries. |
